Job Description

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year Journeyman Electrician License

High school diploma or equivalent GED

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Must be flexible on hours, get along with people, be able to handle stressful situations, must be able to climb ladders, must be able to work at a fast pace, must be able to accept guidance from team leader or foreman.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Journeyperson will oversee and coach two training apprentices with hands on training working alongside the electrical department.

JOB DUTIES:

All facets of typical residential electrical installation to meet or exceed current building codes. Journeyperson will perform walk-throughs with electrical inspectors on site and be familiar with the NEC code.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee must be able to kneel and bend down (existing back or knee problems could be a detriment). Will be on your feet constantly and continuously using your hands. Some jobs will require you to be around dust and working in dark areas. Most work is done indoors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and

100's. Ability to read a tape measurer accurately.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working at a rapid pace within the production line. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.
