Lead Backend Engineer (Core-Banking & Map)

What You ll Be Doing

• Orchestrating and aligning the core banking and map team to enhance and build new features as well as seeing them through to completion
• Improving the developer experience by bringing on new technologies and adding experience to the team
• Mentoring members in the team by relentlessly guarding code quality through pull requests and helping whenever team-members have questions
• Working closely with the Head of Engineering to brainstorm new features and the best possible way to implement them
• Working with mobile and web team, to understand their needs and help them to deliver the best performance for our users

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working in Software Engineering in Backend Environments
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams of high performing software engineers
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent English
• Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Computer Science/Maths/Physics
• Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality

Minimum Technical Requirements

• Fluency with Golang
• Experience with distributed systems, CI/CD
• Having built scalable distributed systems from scratch at least once
• Having experience in implementing SAGA pattern or similar approaches in handling distributed transactions.
• Having experience in implementing high volume real-time connections (Prefer technology gRPC)
• Production experience with PostgreSql, graph databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Minimum understanding of AWS environments to work independently from DevOps. (On managed services)

Preferred Requirements

• Having experience in implementing data plane and a control plane.
• Integration and end-to-end test in Microservice environments.

• Experience with C++, Rust and Python
• Experience within Finance Products
• Experience within a start-up or scale-up
• Experience within a product focussed environment
