Job Description

  • The Powertrain Test Systems Support Technician will provide support to lab and vehicle test equipment users, with a primary focus on data acquisition and lab automation systems.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting of test equipment.
    • Perform initial software set up and commissioning for Panel laptops or other test systems.
    • Provide technical software support for installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
    • Train users on features of equipment and software.
    • Engage vendors directly to identify root cause of issues and implement countermeasures.
    • Prepare documentation on troubleshooting efforts and results as well as standard work procedures for test equipment.
    • Coordinate with and provide support to Lab Ops Equipment team for equipment management.
    • Participate in Toyota Way activities as requested.
    • Complete TMNA-assigned training by deadline.
    • Abide by all TMNA site regulations, including health, safety, and environmental procedures, including use of PPE.
    • Schedule flexibility will be occasionally required for training and support meetings with Japan vendor.

  • Requirements:

    This is an entry level position. Please do not submit any Sr Level Technicians or Engineers

    Requirements:

    • Excellent customer focus
    • Intermediate computer skills, including ability to perform software installations and updates.
    • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Good written and verbal skills with proficiency in English.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to lift and maneuver equipment up to 35 pounds without assistance
    • Good troubleshooting skills (software, mechanical, electrical, etc.)

    What you may bring:

    • Ability to read and speak Japanese.
    • Familiarity with use of data acquisition or testing equipment
    • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and measurement equipment (voltage, current, continuity testing)
    • College level coursework in technology (mechanical, electrical/electronic, computer, or similar)
    • Experience in customer service or desktop support
