The primary purpose of this role is to manage, administer and govern the configuration management process and ensuring CMDB data integrity as well as support IT Asset tracking. This role will be required to work closely with ServiceNow, server and application owners to gather and uplift data quality.
Responsibilities
- Performing operational activities as defined by Configuration Management (CM) policies and procedures
- Fulfilling CMDB service requests as assigned
- Engaging with strategic projects to ensure CMDB can deliver required functionality within project time frames
- Mentoring the organization on CMDB services, concepts, policies, and procedures
- Collecting and reporting on metrics as required
- Proactively Identify and report on noncompliance
- Performing CMDB audits as directed
- Identifying service improvement opportunities
- Control inventory that is purchased and used
- Help reduce the cost of purchasing and managing assets
- Manage the IT asset life cycle from planning to disposal
- Achieve compliance with relevant IT asset standards and regulations
- Create standards and processes for managing assets
- Document and Maintain local config management Process and Procedures
- CMDB local data maintenance and reporting
- Identify service mapping gaps and rectify
- Govern Application and Infra CI lifecycle (Remap, updates mapping wherever required via UI)
- Works with configuration manager/product owner and application /system owners to maintain/update/improve CI data integrity
- Where necessary maintain, modify and create local procedures or policies in alignment with group policies & procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
- ITIL Foundation v3 or v4 certification (plus)
- Experience in using ServiceNow ITOM module (plus)
- Good knowledge in IT configuration and asset management
- Good knowledge in ServiceNow CMDB
- Good analytical and problem solving skills on maintaining CMDB data integrity
- Understanding of ServiceNow discover and service mapping tool
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Process governance and design experience
- Ability to work independently and self starter
- Good communication skills, interpersonal, oral, and written in English
