CMSE Recruitment are currently recruiting an EHS Specialist for our client in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Co. Louth for a 12-month contract. Reporting to theEHS Associate Director, the EHS Specialist will support CQV activities and operations as areas are handed over to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support EHS CQV activities as required.
- Contractor Management and associated requirements
- Reviewing RAMS and issuing PTW
- Prepare and Deliver Toolbox talks
- Conduct site inspections and audits
- Develop, promote, and drive the maintenance of a strong, pro-active health & safety culture on the site.
- Lead incident investigations to ensure root cause is identified and appropriate corrective and preventive actions are identified and tracked to closure.
- Support the establishment of an EHS management system for site operations.
- Implement an effective EHS risk assessment process across the site, ensuring appropriate control measures are in place.
- Coordinate activities regarding procurement, supply, provision and maintenance of safety equipment ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
- Co-ordinate and develop the site Emergency Response programme.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Environment Health and Safety or equivalent is essential
- IOSH membership is desirable
Person Specification
- It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent knowledge of EHS legislation and demonstrated application of same through risk assessment processes.
- Strong ability to conduct risk assessments in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a start-up facility environment is an advantage.
- Experience of EHS management systems including e.g. ISO14001 or ISO 45001
- Experience in IED license requirements and environmental management is desirable
