Director of Procurement

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Adept at understanding the effect of NPI, and planning around inventory and where NPI will fit in.
• Proven people management ability
• Demand planning
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and being in a role that handles a wide scope that includes Planning, Procurement, Logistics, 3PL, International Supply Chain, and building teams
• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
• Ability to analyze and forecast financial trends.
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
