Head of Accounting

Our multinational client who deals in FastMoving Consumable Goods (FMCG) is looking to hire an experienced Head of Accounting to join their team. Reporting to the General Manager you will primarily be responsible for overseeing all activities of the accounting department which involves the supervision and management of general accounting activities financial analyses creating strategies advising on sales plan and the maintenance of effective internal controls while ensuring statutory compliance in all accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities.

• Prepare financial statements business activity reports and financial forecasts.

• Liaise with HR for the preparation of monthly payroll and slips for employees.

• Coordinate with warehouse manager to validate values of stock in all periodic audits.

• Liaise with both internal and external auditors to ensure that the organization s financial records and record keeping methods are in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

• Manage employees and HOD s who are responsible for financial reporting and budgeting.

• Periodically review the organization s financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

• Analyze data and advise top management on how to maximize profits.

• Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth/expansion.

• Supervise activities of team members to efficiency as well as to meet timelines.

• Ensure all sales revenues are properly managed by liaising with the Sales and Marketing Department.

• Liaise with HR Department for Training and recruitment needs.

• Any other duties which may be duly assigned.

Requirements

• Must have at least a degree in Accounting Business Administration Commerce or related field.

• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the same or similar role.

• Professional qualification in ICAG or ACCA is mandatory.

• Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills with good attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational communication (written and verbal) interpersonal team playing and time management skills.

• Possess working knowledge in the use of accounting software (ERP SAP SAGE)

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software suite (i.e. MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook).
