CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / CFO(Permanent)
Our client, an established organization with strong ties to the community in Buffalo, NY, is looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer to join their ;This position reports directly to the
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Finance and Operations departments including VP of Finance, Director of Administrative Operations, Foundation Counsel, and 6 indirect team members
- Act as an integral member of the senior leadership team making critical decisions to drive results and achieve the goals of the Organization
- Lead strategic decision making to determine how to best leverage current resources and engage in financial forecasting
- Partner with VP of Finance to direct accounting operations and provide fiduciary oversight of the Organization s assets
- Ensure budget cycles, annual audit processes, external financial reporting, are successful and financial best practices are implemented/documented
- Evaluate potential new revenue sources and the impact they will have on operations
- Conduct analytics related to pricing services and products
- Manage the implementation of the Organization s investment policy to maximize charitable assets for the benefit of clients/donors and the community as a whole; ensure appropriate internal controls are in place, including reporting and valuation of investments
- Directly supervise the Director of Administrative Operations, assisting in the successful delivery of process improvement
- Assist the Chief of Staff in areas of regulatory compliance, employee manual review and revision, policy changes, benefit program review and selection, education of Team Members on benefit programs, completion and submission of employment and benefit plan documents
- Manage, develop, and improve policies and procedures while proactively planning for growth
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full time, direct hire; standard 40-50 hours/week
- Hybrid work model available after 90-days (, 3 days in-office: mostly Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays)
- Up to $200,000 depending on experience + 15% bonus potential
- MBA highly preferred; CPA highly preferred; Bachelor s degree required
- Non-profit experience highly preferred
- 10+ years Accounting/Financial experience
- Excellent accounting and math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Able to make sound decisions
- Some domestic travel may be required
