Company Overview:
Our Client a leading manufacturing company specializing in the production of precision metal components for various industries is seeking to hire a skilled Circle Cutting Operator to join their production team. The Circle Cutting Operator will be responsible for operating machinery to precisely cut metal sheets into circular shapes according to specified dimensions and tolerances. This role demands attention to detail technical proficiency and a commitment to maintaining high standards of production quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate circlecutting machinery to cut metal sheets into circular shapes accurately.
- Interpret engineering drawings blueprints or work instructions to determine cutting specifications including dimensions angles and tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and materials based on job requirements.
- Monitor machine operation to ensure cuts are made according to specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished parts for defects or inaccuracies; make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machine operation is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Circle Cutting Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of metalworking processes and materials.
- Ability to operate and maintain circlecutting machinery effectively.
- Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Good problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines is an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and techniques.
- Adaptability to learn new technologies and processes.
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a manufacturing environment where adherence to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The Circle Cutting Operator may be required to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy materials.
A first degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or any relevant discipline. Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. ACCA/CPA. Knowledge of Stock Accounting/Inventory Management support especially for petroleum products, will be an added advantage.
