Provide strategic direction to a team of experts to drive the preparation and consolidation of statutory & regulatory reporting and financial obligations for Rest.  

Reporting to the CFO you will lead a culture of risk management internally and with external entities by ensuring leading practice financial controls and framework in alignment with the Rest strategy.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities;

  • Overall responsibility for preparation approval and lodgement of statutory and regulatory reporting including annual financial reports for the Rest fund trustee and investment entities.
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting on overall financial position of the Group
  • Leading a team of financial and regulatory reporting professionals 
  • Directing controlling and monitoring Accounts Payable activities.
  • Responsibility for overall engagement with external financial auditors
  • Responsibility for overall engagement with MUFG key external finance service provider
  • Responsibility for oversight of our reserves across insurance administration and risk together with the CFO
  • Prepare submissions to the Rest Board and Audit & Finance Committee in relation to appropriate financial matters
  • Maintaining and improving financial risk management and control functions and processes across the Rest Group (include managing Line 1 Risk for F&IO division and maintaining recovery and exit planning etc.
  • Maintaining and improving appropriate finance policies (include reserving policy business expenditure policy climate reporting disclosures AMM AFC etc.
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across Rest to drive compliance on financial reporting
  • Working as part of a senior leadership team collaboratively ensuring key deliverables are met
  • Being involved and representing Rest in appropriate industry forums

Qualifications :

  • Degree qualified in Accounting
  • Member of the Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand
  • Extensive experience in statutory and financial reporting in Financial Services Professional Services and/or Superannuation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading internal and external reporting and financial obligations with APRA ASIC and other regulators.
  • Experience working within Financial control Audit in Insurance/Superannuation or Financial Services.
  • Experience in leading motivating and manages staff to optimise performance and effectiveness.
  • Experience Leading transformational change or business improvement initiatives.
