Were on the lookout for culturally aligned General Manager Finance & Operations (based in Sydney or Melbourne who is eager to join the AVEC journey.
In this role youll be responsible for the nonrevenue generating activities of AVEC ensuring the business runs seamlessly behind the scenes. Reporting into AVECs Group MD youll work closely with our shared global service team (Finance P&C Legal and IT) to ensure AVECs finance and operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities:
- Financials
- Ensuring all accounting tasks are managed and aligns with accounting standards best practice for consultancy firms and is completed within the timelines set both internally and externally.
- Provide insights to leadership team with key data benchmarks including utilization staff mixes.
- Operations
- Mange the commercial and financial side of Tech projects to ensure that overruns are kept to minimum.
- Ensure revenue splits between AVEC and Talent are in line with polices and be the first line for any discrepancies.
- Actively manage and resolve financial issues aligned with internal transactions. ensuring AVEC remains strategically and operationally aligned to the broader group strategy but also remains aligned to its own strategic value.
- Legal
- Managing compliance including reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Ensuring customer and supplier contracts with are in line with expectations pricing is acceptable and risks are within the groups tolerance.
- Consult with external legal parties to ensure all legal contracts fit the risk tolerance of the organisation and ensure appropriate governance is set over the financial outcomes of those contracts.
- Strategy
- Work closely with the Group and AVEC executives to deliver business plans and robust budgets.
- Continuously Propose and implement improvements to the operations and finance capabilities of AVEC.
Qualifications :
Requirements:
- CA/CPA qualification
- At least 10 years experience in a technology/professional consulting business (as FC/FD/Comm Director)
- Supplier/Customer contracting experience
- Knowledge of consulting benchmarks and drivers (utilisation/staffing mixes) and how they enhance profitability
- Ability to be strategic detail driven and roll up you sleeves and get into the weeds
- Experience in a high growth scale up or business unit within a corporate
- Strong personality with the ability to ensure policies are complied with
- Ability to execute at pace efficiently and professionally
- Ability to drive system change
Nice to have:
- Experience in a professional consulting business as FC/FD
- Experience with BC Pipeline
- Supplier/Customer contract experience
- Experience in working with data to aid decision making
