The IT Support Specialist provides tier 2 technical assistance to students faculty and staff ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and devices. This role involves troubleshooting hardware software and network issues while maintaining a high standard of customer service and user training. The specialist will collaborate with regional and global IT teams to implement technology initiatives aligned with Avenues strategic goals. Additionally this position reports directly to the IT Service Manager and will support the manager in various tasks including project implementation process improvements and documentation of IT workflows.
What you will do
- Deliver timely and effective technical assistance for faculty staff and students across various IT platformswith a primary focus on MacOS and iOS but also containing Windows devices.
- Manage installation configuration and troubleshooting of schoolissued devices ensuring compatibility with educational software and network security protocols.
- Maintain monitor and troubleshoot workstations and other IT equipment.Track prioritize and document requests using an IT support request system.
- Perform support actions and follow up solution with the customer.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation of hardware software and systems.Recommend schedule and perform equipment and system improvements upgrades and repairs.
- Assist in developing longterm strategies and capacity planning for meeting future technology needs.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of hardware software and network contracts and supervise contractbased installations. When necessary work with thirdparty support and equipment vendors.
- Maintenance/support to Apple Devices (iPad Macbooks Mac mini) Google Suite (Google Admin) Microsoft Suite (Teams InTune) Cloudbased services (Google Workspace Exchange Azure Entra Active Directory) Audio Visual Equipment (Projectors Audio Mixer Microphones) Printers.
- Assist with onboarding procedures.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications :
Candidates should have most if not all of the following:
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
- Intermediate English language skills are highly desirable
- 35 years in a similar role
- Energized by Avenues mission and opportunity for impact in education
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage and ensure the completion of multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. This will include maintaining appropriate priorities as needed
- Intellectual curiosity and a mindset of continuous learning and growth

- Strong initiative and aptitude to make recommendations to management to enhance the current environment as needed
