Job Description

Director of Nursing LPN/RN plans organizes develops and directs community clinical and medication programs in accordance with current federal state and local standards in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and within standards of clinical practice as defined by the American Nurses Association. Informs and works collaboratively with Executive Director regarding clinical concerns and compliance issues and makes recommendations for resolution. Serves as a clinical resource for community staff.

  • Provide nursing care to residents including but not limited to: Completion of health assessments completion of resident Care Plans and reviewing them with resident family members and/or Power of Attorney discussing changes in resident condition with physicians introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs etc. Also provide medication administration and help with resident care as needed.
  • Accountable for timely assessments and accurate care plans in the electronic health record plus communication with Business Office Manager on any additional care given for accurate resident billing.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of state regulations policies and procedures dictated for compliance.
  • Must be able to work oncall for any shift as needed.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this position we believe that you need the following experiences strengths and skills:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) preferred Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (Texas). Subject to state requirements.
  • A Bachelors degree in Nursing Social Work Psychology Gerontology is preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of management experience.
  • Has experience in community acute skilled or longterm care settings. Possesses geriatric assessment skills. Is knowledgeable in geriatric and dementia care.
  • Has the ability to train staff and to assess systems and implement systems. Is organized and selfdirected.
  • Meet the Statespecific qualifications and training for the position.
  • Must have basic computer skills login/logoff email documents spreadsheets and entering data.
