Job Description
The Team
The Core Apps Platform team is responsible for the core architecture infrastructure operational practices and design capabilities that enable our Candidate domain teams to deliver high quality mobile experiences for our SEEK JobsDB and Jobstreet mobile apps serving jobseekers across APAC.
Our ambition is to deliver world class apps that delight our customers by enabling teams to build consistent beautiful reliable and secure apps at scale.
The team currently consists of approximately 30 passionate SEEKers across two subteams (iOS and Android). Each subteam being a multifunctional distributed agile team of engineers product managers designers and analysts spread across Australia Hong Kong and Malaysia.

About the role
As a Senior iOS Engineer you will play a key technical role evolving the iOS app platform through the delivery of frameworks patterns tooling and best practices to enable our teams to deliver a highquality mobile experience.
We are looking for dedicated engineers with customer focus passion for mobile app design and that share our philosophy for highly maintainable software engineering.
You will be responsible for driving the technical alignment engineering quality and delivery of reliable and scalable software. You will also coach/mentor software engineers improve the engineering practices of the team and contribute to enabling an inclusive team culture supportive of learning and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Build
- Lead and guide other engineers to build test deploy and maintain high quality scalable and reliable software from development to production aligned to SEEKs engineering practices.
- Improve and maintain platform health ensuring that our systems are reliable resilient and efficient.
- Troubleshoot and manage production incidents through resolution.
- Codrive the design & delivery of platform and backend experience APIs.
Execute
- Consistently write clean welltested readable software using secure coding practices current patterns and tooling.
- Lead improvements to the Apps Platform tooling continuous delivery pipeline operational and engineering practices.
- Improve the engineering quality practices devops culture agile delivery rituals and strengthen team capabilities.
- Actively connect with others in an effective timely and empathic manner.
- Manage risks effectively ensuring they are communicated managed and mitigated appropriately.
- Improve understanding of our apps platform users and our SEEK customers considering their needs in all aspects of development.
Qualifications :
Experience
- Engineering and maintaining high quality architecture user experience and longlived codebases for commercialscale iOS Apps.
- Architecting building and operating highly scalable available performant and secure solutions with complex dependencies.
- Leading engineering and technical solutions as part of a multifunctional team in an agile development environment
- Able to manage competing priorities identify tradeoffs/risks and manage technical and nontechnical partner expectations.
- Experience upskilling coaching and developing junior engineers.
- Able to coordinate influence motivate and empower others to achieve outcomes.
Technical Skills
Essential
- Experienced in developing highly scalable available performant and secure native iOS Apps.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles objectoriented programming and practices in the iOS ecosystem
- Strong sense of software craftsmanship writes clean testable effective and communicable code driving team engineering principles.
- Experience driving design of and integration with backend services and user behavior metrics.
- Experienced in creating and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines using current practices patterns & tooling.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and test automation.
- Experience with the operational deployment monitoring and lifecycle management of mobile app releases (e.g. App DevOps feature toggle management A/B test management and metrics monitoring).
Desirable
- Practical experience with Swift SwiftUI XCTest XCUITest Grand Central Dispatch multi variant applications multimodule applications.
- Familiar with GraphQL and Typescript.
- Experience with library development and maintenance.
- Using development and operational tools in the public cloud (preferably AWS).
- Drives a culture of continuous improvement and inspires such pursuit in others.
- Contributes and participates in user groups meetups conferences and or opensource projects.
