Job Description
Key Objective of Role
Based in our regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia the Senior Strategy Manager is a pivotal role in helping SEEK define and deliver its longterm vision and growth ambitions. The role is split into 2 key parts:
Develop and grow the overall SEEK Adjacent Growth strategy across APAC
- Define strategic priorities to generate growth in areas adjacent to SEEKs core marketplace business
- Define growth strategy and ambition for identified priority areas
- Lead projects related to the of this strategy working closely with our Product & Commercial Growth teams and portfolio businesses
- Develop and maintain relationships with key functional areas within SEEK and within our various businesses
Develop and evolve SEEKs M&A strategy to achieve our marketplace ambitions
- Assess trends and developments in the job marketplace recruitment software and HRIS market landscapes and define implications for SEEK
- Define opportunity areas for strategic investments and acquisitions
- Lead the sourcing due diligence and general deal of potential small to midsized acquisitions for SEEK including management of relationships with potential targets
- Provide strategic advice and planning for integration of potential acquisitions
The Team
SEEK global Strategy team is composed of 3040 mostly exconsultants from premier consulting firms. About a third of the team sits in our Kuala Lumpur offices. - The Head of Strategy Adjacencies
- The Director of Strategy Product
- The Director of Strategy Commercial
- The Group Executive Product
- The Director of Commercial Growth Adjacent Revenue
- The Head of APAC Commercial Growth Adjacent Revenue
- Other team members of the APAC SEEK strategy team
- Leaders and team members of our Product teams
- Leadership teams of portfolio companies
- Other members of the Executive team
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have:
58 years experience working in strategyrelated roles with at least 5 years in a premier strategy consulting firm or credible PE/investment banking firm. M&A experiences and/or portfolio management is a must.
- Highly developed reasoning capabilities analytical and problem solving skills with consistent track record to break down and scope strategic problems
- Experienced in developing business level strategy and defining this in terms of specific objectives targets and initiatives
- Ability to empower and lead strategy project teams to deliver results that beat expectations
- Validated experience in M&A due diligence deal postmerger integration and portfolio management/operations. Private equity and/or investment banking experience is crucial.
Passion for developing creative factbased growth strategy and excellent discernment
- High degree of intellectual flexibility with a passion for understanding sophisticated human and economic interactions and making sense of the world
- A track record of having solved genuinely ambiguous and strategic problems (i.e. where to play how to win)
- A high learning orientation and a desire to become a global authority in online marketplace design and operations
Proven experience in working with team members to get stuff done
- Ownership drive delivering outcomes with cross functional cross market teams
- Ability to establish relationships and influence senior team members from a range of cultures
- Collaborative and compassionate work style. Modest and willingness to get stuck in
