Job Description

Position Summary: The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator RN provides and plans the daily nursing activities and care as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with accepted standards of nurse practice and regulations. Promotes a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents living in the long term care facility. Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: Must have an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in geriatric nursing including experience with medication administration delivery systems and pharmacies. License Certification Registration: In addition must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as a Registered Nurse. CPR certification. Must obtain MDS certification within 90 days of start. Equipment/Tools: Office equipment (i.e. computer telephone fax machine copy machine). Prior experience with the MDS data tool in a long term care environment is preferred.
