Job Description

Under the general guidance of the Regional Director of P&C/General Manager responsible for supporting the short and longterm strategy planning and execution management of the People & Culture function for the hotel(s). Manage expenses within approved budget constraints.  Major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to recruitment wage and salary administration benefits administration training recognition employee/labor relations record keeping and payroll.  Work closely with immediate supervisor(s) in implementing achieving and maintaining the property and the company goals mission values and objectives.


Qualifications :

The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

  • College Degree in Business Hospitality or Related field preferred
  • At least five years of combined progressive hospitality and HR experience in a hotel or a related industry preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws
  • Ability to be resourceful creative and maintain flexibility
  • Ability to train motivate evaluate mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
  • Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the companys values
  • Understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera Microsoft Word Excel & Outlook is preferred
  • Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
  • Possess a gracious friendly and fun demeanor
  • Ability to multitask work in a fastpaced environment and have a high level attention to detail
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
  • Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eighthour shift.
  • Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of federal state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights occupational safety and health wage and hour issues and labor relations
