- The Manufacturing Engineering BodyinWhite (BIW) Specialist will lead the development and implementation of BIW Automatic process equipment tools and related facilities for new model assembly production in one or more assembly plants.
- The Specialist drives continuous improvement into the processes and equipment while meeting the cost and timing requirements of the program.
- Employee evaluation and coaching are key aspects of this position.
- The successful Specialist demonstrates the ability to form clear achievable goals for their direct reports and to establish and maintain a system supporting those individuals in the achievement of their goals.
- The Specialist may have direct reports who are manufacturing process engineers who lead the development of the BIW assembly process creation and tooling for new vehicle launches.
- Interface with multiple organizations (Product Engineering Vehicle Assembly Quality etc.) to understand components/subsystems for vehicles; use information obtained to generate process sheets assembly layouts installation tooling as well as special manufacturing requirements.
- Lead Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities with the platform team for new/critical processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- 10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
- Program/project management experience
- Ability to effectively work and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong oral written presentation and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and problemsolving skills.
- Vehicle manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of Teamcenter Manufacturing and VIS Mockup Microsoft Excel poweruser desired
