As the HPF Production Engineer Coop you will provide technical support to the Herbicide Production and Formulations Unit.
- Provide process/production engineering support to achieve performance targets in efficiency production and compliance
- Identify improvement opportunities through data sourced from interactions with Operations personnel from process historians and through daily Tier meetings.
- Responsible for OEE and Continuous Improvement Efforts for the HPF unit
- Participate in site wide initiatives that will deliver reliability improvements reduce energy usage and increase production
- Support of monthend accounting closure for consumption of raw materials and energy
- Support unit through real time production reporting yield and raw material efficiency monitoring.
- Support environmental improvements reporting and calculations with regards to permitting and release reporting.
- Support the Capital Projects Group (CPG) in early project scope development.
- Support unit operations in incident investigations related to production processes.
- Provide PRA assistance for the Site as a unit representative.
- Participate in crossfunctional teams to address HSE and process safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and coaching to operations personnel on process changes and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Two years of experience in a manufacturing setting as Production or Process Engineer preferred
- Equipment troubleshooting experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to communicate at multiple levels throughout the site organization
- Demonstrated understanding of best engineering practices and the application of RAGAGEPs to assets and processes
Additional Knowledge Skills Traits & Abilities:
- Strong personal accountability
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
- Prior experience leading crossfunctional teams would be a plus
- Have a high level of ownership in making a measurable positive impact to plant performance and Syngenta profitability. Demonstrated ability to develops plans to attain targets
- Be a team player in a team environment
- Be a selfstarter and selfmotivator
- Have good computer skills including Microsoft suite
- Working knowledge of PI SeeQ or other Data Historian and ability to design and interpret trends
- Experience with both continuous and batch chemical production processes and technology
- Six Sigma Black belt or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
