A HR Officer for we.people provides tailored HR support to businesses too small to hire a fulltime HR person or undergoing change management but unable to afford a full HR team. The role focuses on strategic and operational HR solutions for clients in industries like media PR communications digital tech/IT advertising mining and trade businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Compliance
Handle employee grievances disputes and performance management issues.
Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation modern awards and contracts.
Advise on disciplinary actions terminations and redundancy processes.
Conduct workplace investigations and provide solutions for risk mitigation.
Manage annual performance reviews and assist businesses in creating structured feedback frameworks.
Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure leadership and key talent pipelines.
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
Oversee endtoend recruitment ensuring clients attract and retain top talent.
Implement best hiring practices including candidate assessments and job design.
Provide talent market insights and salary benchmarking for competitive hiring.
Strategic HR & Business Support
Act as a trusted advisor to clients on HR strategy talent management and compliance.
Provide guidance on workforce planning restructuring and change management.
Develop HR policies procedures and best practices aligned with business goals.
Support businesses with culture engagement and employer branding strategies.
HR Operations Administration & Training
Develop onboarding and induction programs to improve employee experience.
Implement HR systems and automation tools for efficiency and compliance.
Provide HR reporting analytics and datadriven insights to clients.
Delegate and train junior staff on HR administration tasks while occasionally handling administrative HR work directly as needed.
Learning & Development
Design and deliver training programs for leadership management and compliance.
Offer coaching on HR best practices employment law and workforce development.
Technology & AI Integration
Must have experience with Employment Hero for HRIS payroll and compliance management.
Proficient in Microsoft Teams & SharePoint for collaboration and document management.
Comfortable with AI tools like Copilot to enhance productivity automate tasks and generate insights.
Ideal Candidate
35 years in HR or people & culture roles preferably in diverse industries.
Strong understanding of Australian employment law & HR best practices.
Experience in advisory roles coaching and strategic HR partnerships.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships.
Commercial mindset to align HR with business growth and operational success.
Ideal Candidate 3-5 years in HR or people & culture roles, preferably in diverse industries. Strong understanding of Australian employment law & HR best practices. Experience in advisory roles, coaching, and strategic HR partnerships. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships.
