Job Description

Job Title: Senior Control Engineer

Duration: Full time

Location: Spartanburg SC 29301

Requirements:

  • 5 years of solid controls experience
  • Siemens and Allen Bradley experience
  • Will be upgrading old equipment and implementing new builds
  • Prefer Bachelors but open to Associates
  • Automotive experience preferred but has to have manufacturing (avoid food industry)

Summary:
This position focuses on providing controls for automated equipment with primary responsibilities including PLC and HMI programming network commissioning troubleshooting and equipment integration.

  • Design develop evaluate and optimize manufacturing methods controls devices and systems to improve productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and work with AllenBradley PLCs (500 RS Logix Micro Logix Compact Logix Control Logix) and Siemens PLCs to ensure peak system performance.
  • Identify investigate and resolve issues related to s downtime and equipment failures to enhance process reliability.
  • Lead the execution of process changes automation projects and the installation of new equipment across various locations.
  • Develop and maintain electrical and control schematics ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support during system commissioning startups and ongoing maintenance both locally and internationally.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (preferred)

  • 5 years of experience in automation controls/electrical engineering
  • Strong proficiency in PLC and HMI programming with AllenBradley and Siemens systems
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills for complex automation systems
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP Industrial Protocol vision sensors and barcode scanning systems
  • Proven ability to identify root causes of issues implement solutions and drive continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and travel
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (mechanical drawings would be a bonus) and control schematics
  • Experience working with robotic systems and robot controllers
