Land Development Engineer
Location: Rochester Hills MI (Hybrid)
Employment Type: FullTime
Experience Level: MidSenior (5 years)
About the Role
A civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Land Development Engineer to lead technical designs for land development projects. This role involves site design stormwater management utility design and permitting. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills and experience working on institutional commercial and retail projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team in preparing project drawings calculations and specifications.
- Perform engineering analysis design and reporting for land development projects.
- Evaluate land use and zoning requirements ensuring compliance with ordinances and approval processes.
- Prepare and manage permit applications working through agency reviews to obtain approvals.
- Conduct site visits during construction to assess progress and quality.
- Collaborate with architects developers landscape architects and contractors.
- Mentor and provide training to junior engineering staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of civil engineering experience with at least 3 years in land development.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and Office 360 (Excel Word etc.).
- Strong understanding of utility design stormwater management and sustainable design.
- Ability to attend client meetings travel for site visits and work in an office environment.
- Must live within 2 hours of Rochester Hills MI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in K12 school site design.
