Job Description

Position Summary

The Assembly and Deburr Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the assembly and deburring departments ensuring that production goals are met with an emphasis on quality efficiency and safety. This position oversees the supervision of the assembly deburring and finishing teams ensuring compliance with customer specifications AS9100 standards and company procedures. The supervisor will work closely with the Assembly and Deburr Leads to optimize workflows implement process improvements and maintain a safe working environment. Additionally this role includes utilizing the JobBoss ERP system for production tracking reporting and documentation. The supervisor will report directly to the Production Manager and conduct yearend reviews for team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the assembly and deburring departments ensuring that all production and quality standards are met on time. Monitor work flow coordinate schedules and manage resources to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and manage assembly and deburring personnel including assembly leads deburr/hand finishing leads. Provide coaching training and performance evaluations to improve team skills and productivity.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously analyze assembly and deburring processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement process changes troubleshooting and corrective actions to optimize efficiency quality and safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all assembled and deburred parts meet engineering specifications customer requirements and AS9100 standards. Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures and address any quality issues that arise.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Use the JobBoss or ERP system and Unipoint corrective and preventative actions (CPA) nonconforming product (NC) System to track production progress update work orders and generate reports on key metrics such as assembly timelines deburring quality and inventory levels. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations company policies and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage. Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to resolve hazards.
  • CrossDepartment Collaboration: Work closely with engineering machining quality control and other departments to ensure smooth communication and workflow across all areas. Resolve issues or discrepancies as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives within both assembly and deburring departments. Apply lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to drive efficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all necessary tools equipment and materials are available for the assembly and deburring teams to perform their duties effectively. Track and manage inventory and materials needed for production.
  • Foreman & Lead Supervision: Directly oversee and guide assembly and deburring foremen ensuring their teams are performing according to schedules and standards. Address any team performance issues promptly.
  • YearEnd Reviews: Conduct yearend performance reviews for team members in the assembly and deburring departments. Set goals for performance improvement provide constructive feedback and identify training and development needs.

Qualifications :

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing industrial management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in assembly and deburring in a precision manufacturing or machine shop environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in the JobBoss or ERP system and Unipoint corrective and preventative actions (CPA) nonconforming product (NC) System for tracking production managing schedules and generating reports. Will train if needed.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings blueprints and work instructions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and a detailoriented mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards including PPE usage and experience ensuring a safe workplace.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and move between different workstations.
  • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise heat and other manufacturing conditions.
