Finishing Engineer

To oversee the finishing stages of construction projects ensuring all work meets the highest quality and safety standards maintains aesthetic appeal stays within budget and complies with approved samples.
Project Management Review (GFCs) product specifications method statements and quality test and inspection plans. Oversee finishing activities from the completion of the main structure until the full handover of the unit. Develop and manage detailed finishing schedules coordinate with project engineers and contractors to align the sequencing of finishing activities with project timelines and execute sample flats or samples of all finishing items. Plan effective usage of materials to minimise waste and ensure resources are adequately allocated for all finishing activities. Monitor and report on the progress of finishing works. Provide regular updates and highlight any potential delays or issues. Obtain feedback from relevant stakeholders for completion of snagging and desnagging of the unit ensuring the unit s quality aligns with customer expectations. Ensure timely completion and handover to the relevant stakeholders. Compliance and Safety Ensure all finishing activities comply with local building codes safety regulations and company policies. Stay updated on relevant regulations and standards. Follow strict safety protocols onsite as per organizational and regulatory standards. Inventory Management Oversee the procurement storage and allocation of finishing materials. Coordinate with stores to understand inventory status timely delivery of materials and address any quality concerns necessitating replacements.
Quality Control Conduct regular inspections of finishing work including plastering tiling painting flooring and other related activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Check that all materials used meet the required standards and specifications. Identify and resolve quality issues promptly. Implement corrective measures to address any deficiencies or deviations from project specifications.
Vendor Management Establish and maintain strong professional working relationships with all vendors/ contractors. Oversee the quality and sequencing of work done by the contractors. Conduct regular meetings to review progress and address any challenges.
Cost Tracking & Reporting Manage finishing budgets ensuring all activities are completed within the allocated budget. Identify and suggest costsaving opportunities without compromising on quality. Track and report on all expenditures related to finishing activities. Maintain accurate financial records in adherence to all checklists for auditing and review purposes.
