Job Description

Position Overview
The Account Executive / Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and supporting the Finance Departments operations. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently work collaboratively and uphold the financial integrity of Oryx Universal College.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Records and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records including journals ledgers and reconciliations.
  • Generate monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Support budget preparation and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Process invoices payments and receipts in a timely manner.
  • Manage tuition fee collection including payment plans and followups on overdue accounts.
3. Compliance and Auditing:
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and organisational policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.
4. Financial Analysis:
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for decisionmaking.
  • Assist in cost analysis and financial forecasting.
5. Other Duties:
  • Support the Chief Accountant with ad hoc tasks and special projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial advice and resolve queries.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. A professional qualification such as ACCA CIMA or CPA is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management preferably in an academic or higher education setting.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English both written and verbal. Fluency in Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero or similar).
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
