Our Client is a leading multinational Mechanical and Electrical contracting company. They are looking for a Plumbing & PipeFitting Instructorresponsible for delivering highquality theoretical and practical training in plumbing and pipefitting. The role involves teaching students essential plumbing skills ensuring they can safely and effectively perform plumbing systems fixtures and fittings tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
- Deliver comprehensive training on plumbing tools piping materials fixtures and water supply systems among other topics.
- Teach students to interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out plumbing layouts.
- Instruct on the installation of Henco pipes modification and repair of pipes fixtures and other plumbing materials.
- Demonstrate the use of plumbing tools including saws pipe cutters and welding equipment.
- Provide handson training in welding plastic pipes and fittings (HDPE butt welding) and installing various plumbing systems.
- Update lesson plans learning objectives and course materials as required.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments and provide feedback.
- Supervise practical sessions ensuring adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Provide instruction on the use of CAD software such as AutoCAD and others to create detailed plumbing layouts and models
Workshop Management:
- Maintain the training workshop ensuring that tools equipment and materials are secure and in good working order.
- Schedule and conduct regular maintenance of machines and equipment as per the manufacturers recommendations.
- Manage the procurement and efficient use of course materials tools and equipment.
- Responsible for the electrical maintenance of the training facilities and hostel.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the Training Manager to update the plumbing course content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Integrate videos weekly tests and exams into the course curriculum to enhance learning outcomes.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and submit progress reports for each participant.
- Participate in the mentorship of new trainers sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Request and manage the inventory of training materials stationery and other necessary supplies
Requirements:
- HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a Trade Certificate e.g. Trade Test NSQ etc. (Plumbing & Pipefitting).
- Minimum of 6 years of proven practical experience in the construction industry with a focus on plumbing.
- Any relevant certifications in plumbing and pipefitting is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and plumbing codes.
- Proficiency in welding and installing various plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy plumbing materials and tools.
