Job Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Contribute to the architecting and designing of AWS infrastructure solutions to meet the organisational technical and business requirements.
- Collaborating with crossfunction teams to optimize AWS services for cost performance security and reliability; while adhering to best practice and compliance standards.
- Work collaboratively with product owners and developers to identify test and assess security controls in alignment with the PSPF ISM E8 and organisational policy.
- Contribute to implementation of CNAPP/SASE tooling across cloud platforms.
- Use and implementation of products relating to Azure Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Domain Services.
- Implementing solutions and tools as Proof of Concepts (PoCs) so they can be evaluated for use prior to use in the TS Cloud. This may include replicating production environments to enable PoCs and testing.
- Participate in collaboration with agencies to understand their current state architectures and make consideration for these in the architectural design. Ensuring relevant policies and standards are addressed and plan and design for emerging technologies (such as Zero Trust Architecture).
Technical skills required:
- Minimum 3 years experience in Cloud/AWS Engineering.
- Experience with implementing and managing security controls.
- Desirable: Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) features such as Virtual Machine (VM) Virtual Network (VNET) Virtual Private Network (VPN) Express Route).
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) features.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Cloud backup and disaster recovery.
Requirements
Essential criteria:
1. SCAD 4 Security operations: Level 4 (SFIA) Maintains operational security processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Provides advice on defining access rights and the application and operation of elementary physical procedural and technical security controls. Investigates security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommends required actions. Provides support and checks that corrective actions are implemented.
2. ITOP 4 IT infrastructure: Level 4 (SFIA) Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures. Contributes to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates. Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines. Uses infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance statistics. Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate the provisioning testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure. Maintains operational procedures and checks that they are executed following agreed standards. Investigates and enables the resolution of operational issues. Provides reports and proposals for improvement to specialists users and managers.
3. DESN 4 Systems design: Level 4 (SFIA) Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures design standards patterns and methodology. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and tradeoffs. Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and nonfunctional requirements. Models simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produces detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems. Reviews verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
