Title: CAD Technician II
Location: Painted Post NY
Duration: 9 Months
Description:

100% at ZV building Painted Post NY

Interview Process: Phone screen then onsite interview which will include an hour long SolidWorks assessment

Manager is open to entry level engineers. Minimum of 23 years CAD Tech experience. Must be proficient with AutoCad and SolidWorks. Minimum of 2 year technical degree. No masters or PhDs for this role. Manager is open to candidates outside the local area but not out of state (except PA).

Scope of Position:
Provides mechanical design and technical support to engineers involved in the design development and testing of industrial thermal process equipment.
Assist engineers with the design of mechanical equipment components using both AutoCAD and Solidworks software.
Updates and revises existing equipment drawings and documentation.
Supports equipment debug startup and installations.
Produces equipment and process documentation (spare parts lists SOPs machine specifications etc.).
Procure material and process equipment using client approved processes.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Modifies design layouts of mechanical systems and subsystems using computer aided design under the direction of an engineer (2D/3D).
Modifies and revises assembly and detail drawings of robot tooling machine components and associated equipment.
Assist with the preparation of documentation packages (drawings and written materials).
Compiles Spare Parts Lists based on vendor or engineer recommendations.
Assists engineers with specifications for commercially available material handling equipment and systems.
Supports project teams with estimates tracks and reports costs and project timelines.
Assists in preparing of training materials and training of plant/customer personnel.
Demonstrates effective communication of technical ideas using graphic written and oral media.
Confers with vendors in the final selection of commercial components and writes purchase requisitions.

Hours of work/work schedule:
MondayFriday 40 hours with overtime as required.

Required Skills (MUSTS):
Familiarity with Solidworks and AutoCAD
Ability to work in a teambased environment and to contribute to a highly matrixed project team.
Understands and values working in a diverse environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities through sound planning and organizing.
Ability to select standard mechanical parts from a vendor catalog or by contacting the vendor.

Technical curiosity
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of ANSI drawing standards
Ability to work independently to complete drafting and design tasks.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Willingness to mentor other less experience Technician and to advise Engineers on best practice for mechanical design.

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration):
Minimum of a 2 year technical degree (Mechanical technology CAD etc.)
Minimum 23 years of experience
