Bosch Oceania is seeking a highly motivated professional to drive the development of cuttingedge electronics components and ensure successful product introduction into production. This is a permanent fulltime position based at our headquarters in Clayton Victoria International and domestic travel may be required for customer and internal projects.
As a Hardware Project Engineer you will:
- Carry out and supervise product development and design new products components or systems.
- Ensure the successful introduction of products into production working with crossfunctional teams to meet project goals and quality standards.
- Perform all development activities in line with company procedures and relevant international standards.
- Define performance specifications and functional requirements for new projects and testing methods based on customer requirements.
- Drive improvements in business systems methods and processes to enhance quality timeliness and costeffectiveness of development activities.
- Coordinate conduct and supervise hardware problemsolving investigations and testing.
- Plan and track verification and validation activities to ensure product designs comply with specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation including schematics Bill of Materials (BoM) and specifications.
- Support procurement of equipment and materials required for hardware activities.
- Identify potential risks investigate mitigation solutions and escalate issues when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to achieve project objectives while adhering to timing and quality expectations.
Qualifications :
We are looking for a conscientious professional with the ability to work autonomously grow the business and establish effective relationships with customers. The successful candidate will have / demonstrate the following;
Essential:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Significant experience in the design and development of electronic components.
- Experience in design for test and production preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Successful completion of at least one major project into production.
- Selfdriven with a passion for excellence.
- Ability to work autonomously prioritising customer and internal demands.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of traditional hardware development lifecycle and agile methods.
- Experience eliciting requirements with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as Schematic Creation (Zuken) Circuit simulation (SPICE) Mathcad and Excel.
- Excellent Time management and organisational skills
- Advanced communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
Desirable:
- Understanding of automotive industry processes with practical OEM experience.
- Experience in Automotive electronic circuit design for:
- Micro Controller and/or Microprocessor
- Analog and digital Inputs and Outputs
- Communications; ie. CAN LIN Ethernet
- EMC immunity and emission reduction.
- ESD protection.
- Low Voltage supply (12Vdc).
- High Voltage supply (48Vdc and/or 300450Vdc).
- Experience with failure analysis and design review tools/methods such as FMEA and DRBFM.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety ISO26262 standard in E/E architectures.
- Experience working with multinational teams and multiple OEMs.
- Ability to present to and collaborate with customers to achieve project goals.
- Experience with toolchains such as ClearCase ClearQuest DOORS JIRA Vector CANoe and Vector CANape.
