Job Description
Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of SQL ETL processes and data warehousing concepts to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who can combine technical knowledge with exceptional soft skills to analyze data translate business needs into technical requirements and collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business and technology ensuring datadriven decisions align with organizational goals.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs gather requirements and translate them into clear actionable technical specifications for datarelated projects.
- Data Analysis: Use SQL to query analyze and interpret data from various sources providing actionable insights to support business decisionmaking.
- Data Integration Understanding: Work closely with data engineers to understand ETL processes and data flows ensuring business requirements are met during data integration and transformation.
- Data Warehousing Knowledge: Apply knowledge of data warehousing concepts (e.g. star schema snowflake schema data modeling) to guide the design and optimization of data storage solutions that meet business needs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of business requirements data processes and workflows.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve datarelated processes tools and systems to better support business objectives.
Requirements:
You are:
- 70% Data Analyst with extensive SQL and 30% BA responsibilities
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Finance Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with exposure to SQL ETL/pipelines and data warehousing concepts.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Understanding of ETL processes and tools (e.g. Informatica Talend SSIS).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (e.g. star schema snowflake schema data modeling).
Soft Skills:
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders and build strong relationships across teams.
- Collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams including data engineers developers and business stakeholders.
- ProblemSolving: Creative and analytical thinker with the ability to identify issues propose solutions and drive results.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Leadership: Ability to influence and guide stakeholders toward datadriven decisions without direct authority.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience working with cloudbased data platforms
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g. JIRA).
- Understanding of reporting tools like Tableau Power BI or similar is a plus.
