We are hiring CNM IICNSInfection Controller for our Leading Hospital in DublinIreland.
Responsibilities
- To assist in the investigation and control of outbreaks of infections taking the lead if needed.
- To improve infection prevention and control knowledge throughout all clinical services challenge poor practices and provide recommendations/action plans in partnership with health care colleagues to reduce healthcareassociated infections.
- Participate in risk assessment for infection control issues.
- To create and coordinate a complete infection control program in designated locations in compliance with the infection control plan.
- Ensure that correct paperwork and recordkeeping are maintained.
- Participate in the maintenance of infection prevention and control databases.
- Provide ADON with an update on infection control service reports in order to provide an annual report.
- Keep up to date on infection prevention and control services team research initiatives and participate as needed.
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register with NMBI
- Formal recognised postregistration education relevant to the area of specialist practice at level 8 (Higher Diploma) in accordance with the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework.
- Candidates who do not have the required postgraduate level 8 specialist degree will be employed as Clinical Nurse Manager II initially but must commit to complete within an agreedupon timeframe.
- Higher Diploma or higher in Infection Control Nursing.
- 5 years of postregistration experience in an acute hospital setting during the last 7 years.
- A minimum of two years of expertise in the speciality area of infection control.
- Display evidence of continual professional progress.
