Job Description

Occupli are recruiting a Safety Specialist for our client in the Utilities industry in Dublin.

This is a fulltime permanent position.

Safety Specialist will be the ISO 45001 Audit coordinator and Safety Management Standard system document controller.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and support colleagues in the Safety Team to reduce accident/incident rates across the organisation.
  • Support the Head of Group Safety in maintaining the ISO 45001 Safety Management standard across the Company and delivering the Safety Strategy.
  • Ensure that the organisations Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) is in compliance with the ISO 45001 standard.
  • Manage documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Maintain and update the SMS document.
  • Maintain & update Safety information accessed by employees.
  • Perform quality checks on system documentation to ensure they meet regulatory and organisational standards.
  • Safety audits and inspections.
  • Preparing documenting and updating risk assessments.
  • Coordinate external Third Party ISO 45001 surveillance & recertification audits.
  • Participate in Accident/Incident Investigations and determining corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Regional Safety Advisors and assist where required.




Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Safety Advisor Officer or Specialist role or possess relevant experience in an ISO accredited Audit Safety Management System Documentation control role.


Experience in dealing with geographically spread multiple site operations will be a distinct advantage. Ideally you will be educated to primary degree level in a relevant discipline and at a minimum must hold a qualification in Occupational Health & Safety at NFQ Level 7 or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent.


The ideal candidate will be selfmotivated and be able to work on their own initiative and in a team environment.


In depth knowledge of Irish Health and Safety Law is essential along with experience of working within organisations with strong Safety Consultation and Safety Representative engagement processes. Experience and qualifications in ISO accredited systems would be a distinct advantage in this role.


  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or Audit qualification would be an advantage.
  • Experience with ISO accredited systems and online Safety Reporting systems.
  • The role requires an ability to work independently be capable of working under own initiative with the ability to motivate and support others.
  • Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and have a good understanding of safety management systems.
  • Candidates must be adept at conducting research to ensure the most uptodate and current safety information is used at all times in the preparation of documents.
  • Flexibility in times of attendance a willingness to travel a current clean full driving licence (Category B) and the use of a car are essential.
