Job Description
- Responsible for the leadership and management of the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) and services that this control room provides motorway traffic control and tunnel control
- Lead the daytoday management of the MOCC and act as the lead point of contact for the client (TII) operational partners and stakeholders
- Manage TIIs advanced motorway and tunnel management system applications
- Monitor quality of all notifications and communications sent to stakeholders and the public
- Liaise with other ERTO Departments and stakeholders to facilitate maintain & develop new and existing systems through a capital expenditure programme
- Ensure compliance with applicable contractual obligations
- Liaise on behalf of the client with operational partners and stakeholders
- Facilitate operations by guiding critical decisions and development SOPs
- Developing special event response plans and guiding/training on these
- Ensure staff and other resources are being utilised effectively and efficiently
- Identify develop & report on measures of effectiveness for the MOCC by providing KPIs on transportation management traveller information incident management & vehicle detection system data to managers stakeholders and motorway/tunnel users
- Prepare regular reports on the performance of MOCC operations
- Write and present on technical aspects for the MOCC
- Taking all actions within the scope of the Service in an environmentally responsible manner
Qualifications :
- Level 8 NFQ Ireland or other equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Essential: at least 5 years of experience managing people in a control room
- Desirable: at least 2 years managing a traffic control & tunnel control room
- Previous experience being responsible for the development & management of operations particularly control room with SCADA or similar control room systems
- An understanding of client relationships and reporting including stakeholder liaison
- Demonstrated ability in employee mentoring & development
- Strong networking abilities and creative problemsolving
- Change management experience leading continuous improvement of operating efficiencies
- A high level of numeracy and demonstrable analytical skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operations environment
