Job Description

  • Responsible for the leadership and management of the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) and services that this control room provides motorway traffic control and tunnel control
  • Lead the daytoday management of the MOCC and act as the lead point of contact for the client (TII) operational partners and stakeholders
  • Manage TIIs advanced motorway and tunnel management system applications
  • Monitor quality of all notifications and communications sent to stakeholders and the public
  • Liaise with other ERTO Departments and stakeholders to facilitate maintain & develop new and existing systems through a capital expenditure programme
  • Ensure compliance with applicable contractual obligations
  • Liaise on behalf of the client with operational partners and stakeholders
  • Facilitate operations by guiding critical decisions and development SOPs
  • Developing special event response plans and guiding/training on these
  • Ensure staff and other resources are being utilised effectively and efficiently
  • Identify develop & report on measures of effectiveness for the MOCC by providing KPIs on transportation management traveller information incident management & vehicle detection system data to managers stakeholders and motorway/tunnel users
  • Prepare regular reports on the performance of MOCC operations
  • Write and present on technical aspects for the MOCC
  • Taking all actions within the scope of the Service in an environmentally responsible manner

Qualifications :

  • Level 8 NFQ Ireland or other equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Essential: at least 5 years of experience managing people in a control room
  • Desirable: at least 2 years managing a traffic control & tunnel control room
  • Previous experience being responsible for the development & management of operations particularly control room with SCADA or similar control room systems
  • An understanding of client relationships and reporting including stakeholder liaison
  • Demonstrated ability in employee mentoring & development
  • Strong networking abilities and creative problemsolving
  • Change management experience leading continuous improvement of operating efficiencies
  • A high level of numeracy and demonstrable analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operations environment
