Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Position: Physician (Day Rounder/Nocturnist)

Specialty: Hospitalist Internal Medicine/Family Medicine

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Facility Location: Blacksburg VA

Service Setting: Hospital

Assignment Duration: May 5 2025 Sept 30 2025

SHIFT DETAILS
Day Rounder: 7 AM 7 PM

Nocturnist: 7 PM 7 AM

Minimum Shifts per Month: 7 (preferably 10 14 shifts)

14 shifts per month for fulltime (minimum 710 acceptable)

PATIENT INFORMATION
Daily Encounters: 65 patients per day

FACILITY INFORMATION

EMR System: Meditech
Hospital Size: 146 beds

ICU Beds: Open ICU 10 beds

REQUIREMENTS

BC/BE in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM)

Certifications: ACLS ATLS PALS

Must be willing to perform required procedures (intubations/vent management)

Active Virginia (VA) medical license

Privileging timeframe: 60 days (Expedited privileges unavailable)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Orientation: Includes EMR training and shadowing for the remainder of the day

Annual Volume: Midsize hospital operations
