Job Post: Legal Assistant/Paralegal – Foreclosure/Insolvency and Estate Administration/Litigation

Location: Vancouver Canada
Job Type: Fulltime
Salary Range: $75000 $90000

About Us

Our client is a fullservice law firm with a long history and offices in Vancouver and Surrey (Guildford). They are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their foreclosure insolvency and estate administration/litigation team in Vancouver.

In this independent and dynamic role you will be responsible for a wide range of legal assistant and paralegal duties supporting insolvency estate litigation and estate administration files. This position requires a proactive detailoriented and organized professional who thrives in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings demand letters petitions affidavits notices of applications and other legal documents related to foreclosure matters including S92 applications.

  • Prepare Certificates of Pending Litigation for filing with the Land Titles Office letters of release and manage the filing of court documents via Court Services Online.

  • Prepare correspondence and documentation for estate litigation and administration applications along with ancillary legal documents.

  • Manage and maintain familiarity with all aspects of foreclosure proceedings real estate transactions litigation and estate administration.

  • Handle timekeeping manage inquiries and correspond professionally with clients and external parties.

  • Provide trial preparation support when necessary.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Ability to take initiative anticipate needs prioritize multiple tasks and deliver highquality accurate work from initiation to settlement.

  2. Strong attention to detail excellent written and verbal communication skills and a clientservice mindset.

  3. Demonstrated ability to exercise tact diplomacy critical thinking and independent judgment.

  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to follow direction.

  5. High level of confidentiality and discretion.

  6. Proficiency in Office 365; familiarity with File Site/iManage DMS and Elite 3E accounting software is preferred. Knowledge of proprietary institutional software is an asset.

  7. Intermediate to seniorlevel experience in a similar role.

This is an inoffice position.
