As a Senior Cloud Data Platform Engineer you will bring a cloud engineering mindset to building and operating our AWS Data Platform. This role requires someone that can combine deep knowledge of AWS with a strong understanding of data management principles. By leveraging AWS Data Services you will create scalable secure and performant systems that empower datadriven decisionmaking for our client
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Engineering with a Data Focus: Architect and implement cloud infrastructure tailored to data processing storage and access needs leveraging AWS data services such as S3 EMR Glue Athena Airflow and Lake Formation.
Data Platform Architecture: Design and implement scalable secure and resilient data platforms to support analytics machine learning and operational use cases.
Data Governance & Security: Implement best practices for data governance security and compliance ensuring data is accessed and managed responsibly.
CI/CD and Automation: Establish robust CI/CD pipelines and use tools like GitLab to manage deployments. Automate workflows and data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow AWS Step Functions and Lambda.
Collaboration: Partner with data engineers analysts and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into cloudbased solutions.
Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance reliability and costefficiency of data platforms.
Innovation & Adoption: Stay ahead of AWS advancements introducing new services and best practices to improve the organizations data capabilities.
Qualifications :
Key Skills and Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or data platform engineering with a strong focus on AWS.
AWS Expertise: Handson experience with core AWS data services including S3 Glue Athena Lake Formation and IAM. AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python with experience in automation and scripting.
ETL & Data Pipelines: Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows with a focus on orchestration using tools such as Apache Airflow.
Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with InfrastructureasCode tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Security & Compliance: Knowledge of AWS security best practices and experience implementing policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
DevOps & CI/CD: Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools like GitLab Jenkins or similar.
ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Communication: Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
