We are looking for a Research Group Head: Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics
As a Research Group Head in Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics you will lead a team of highly skilled data scientists and engineers to conduct groundbreaking research and predevelopment sought at addressing critical technological challenges and driving innovation within the organization. You will be at the forefront of improving AI to drive innovation and business value.
You’ll break new ground by:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a longterm research vision and strategy aligned with the department’ overall business objectives.
- Identify emerging AI technologies and market trends to anticipate future needs and opportunities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Clearly articulate the outstanding benefits of your research and how it differentiates from existing solutions.
- Constantly seek problems that your research can address. Consider the potential market demand and the value proposition of your solution.
- Research Management
- Lead all aspects of the planning execution and monitoring of multiple research projects and prioritize optimally to improve research output and impact.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions and Business unit partners to facilitate collaboration and knowledge transfer.
- Encourage risktaking by creating a culture where experimentation and failure are seen as opportunities for learning and growth.
- Organize events that encourage rapid prototyping and idea generation.
- Assess and mitigate the risks associated with AI deployment including model bias security vulnerabilities and productization concerns.
- Technical Expertise
- Possess deep technical expertise in relevant scientific or engineering fields.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow PyTorch) and architectures (CNNs RNNs Transformers).
- Proficiency in Generative AI tooling building RAG pipelines and familiarity with genetic frameworks
- Familiarity with AI development tools cloud platforms (AWS Azure) and MLOps pipelines.
- Stay informed about AI regulations and industry standards.
- Team Management
- Recruit hire and develop a highperforming team of researchers and engineers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
- Create a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Plan and implement the investments/budget as the cost centre owner.
- Implement governance for the Research Group.
- Collaborate with other Research Groups to enhance driven edge at the region / TF level.
- Intellectual Property
- Protect the company's intellectual property through invention disclosures and patents.
- Encourage a culture of intellectual property creation and commercialization.
- External Engagement
- Represent the company at industry conferences workshops and other external events.
- Build and maintain a strong professional network to enhance the company's reputation.
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience (Master’s Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
- Consistent track record of leading successful teams and delivering impactful results.
- Deep understanding of the research landscape and emerging technologies.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience in working across international boundaries.
