Job Description

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (LBS1 Certification)

Immediate Start Date

Work Hours: FullTime

Our organization is on the prowl for a passionate and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated educational team. The ideal candidate will design and implement individualized instruction provide accommodations and modifications and support students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential.

The Exceptional Needs Educator will design and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) to address the unique learning needs and goals of each student. You will adapt instructional approaches to align with state and district curricula utilizing evidencebased strategies to support academic growth. Continuously evaluating student progress you will modify teaching methods to ensure ongoing development. Collaboration is integral to this role as you engage with general education teachers support staff and families to cultivate an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Maintaining comprehensive records of student achievements and communicating updates with stakeholders will be crucial. You will foster a positive learning atmosphere by guiding student behavior through reinforcement techniques and intervention strategies. Active engagement in IEP meetings professional development opportunities and staff collaboration will further enhance your effectiveness and impact.

Requirements

Candidates should have a demonstrated background as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role with experience supporting children who have diverse disabilities. A Bachelor s degree in Special Education is required with a Master s degree being a plus. Applicants must either possess or be eligible to apply for an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education (LSB1) endorsement.
