Cook. Longridge Hall Care Home
- £14.96 per hour
- 32.5 hours per week
- Shifts: 7:30am 5:30pm
Nestled in the heart of Longridge Longridge Hall Care Home is a friendly and welcoming residential care facility where residents truly feel at home. Our dedicated Care Home Manager Tracey has been with us for over a decade bringing both professional expertise and personal care to our residents and team.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring that our residents enjoy nutritious highquality meals every day.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cook you will:
- Prepare and Serve Meals: Deliver appetising nutritious and wellbalanced meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
- Maintain Hygiene Standards: Operate in a clean safe and hygienic kitchen environment adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Support Kitchen Operations: Assist with daytoday catering operations including meal preparation stock management and equipment maintenance.
- Manage Budgets: Help control the catering budget ensuring costeffective use of resources without compromising quality.
- Order Supplies: Submit and manage food orders to ensure consistent availability of fresh ingredients.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the Head Chef 2nd Chef and other staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
- Adhere to Regulations: Ensure compliance with all quality safety and environmental standards.

*Overtime is paid for working over fulltime hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment is essential.
- Culinary Passion: A dedication to creating fresh homecooked meals from scratch tailored to individual needs.
- Budgeting Skills: Knowledge of recipe costing and food budget management.
- Organisational Abilities: Strong time management and prioritisation skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Team Spirit: A friendly and enthusiastic personality with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Qualifications: Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
