Senior Cytotechnologist
Job Summary:
Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing specializing in state of the art automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses.
MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology Infectious Diseases Infectious Arthritis Tickborne Diseases Mycology and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
The Senior Cytotechnologist performs specialized and complex testing that involves microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and nongynecological specimens; provides interpretations to the Supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
Essential Functions:
- Performs thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
- Correlates findings with supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
- Accurately records all appropriate specimen and results data.
- Performs fine need aspirations to prepare biopsies and assess cellular adequacy.
- Assures individual specimen turnaround times are consistent with overall laboratory expectations.
- Assures cytological activities and equipment are used and maintained safely and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Appropriate established laboratory techniques are used in the preparation of quality slides from cytological samples.
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.

Job Qualifications: General Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) required
- ASCP Board Certification
- Experience with ThinPrep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus

- Ability to sit stand walk and repetitive motion: (microscopic screening).
- Proficient visual and audio skills

Education and Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in related science
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
