Position: (Assistant) Regional Accounting Manager

Position Summary:
This role is essential in overseeing the financial operations for Malaysia Singapore and the Philippines with a focus on both ecommerce and retail business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting coupled with experience in the retail industry. Knowledge of store inventory management and retail operations is preferred. The incumbent will collaborate closely with regional and global teams to ensure efficient financial management compliance and strategic planning to support the companys growth across Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements ensuring timely submissions.
- Lead and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes working closely with HQ and regional business teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
- Oversee monthend and yearend closing processes including journal entries reconciliations and accruals.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to support business growth particularly in the retail and ecommerce sectors.
- Collaborate with retail operations teams to ensure efficient store inventory management and financial alignment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency financial controls and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax requirements in all three markets.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners such as auditors and tax advisors.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team fostering skill development and operational excellence.
- Support adhoc projects and initiatives from HQ and regional management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or professional qualification in Finance or Accounting (e.g. ACCA CPA or equivalent). A Masters degree is an advantage.
- 35 years of experience in a finance or accounting role preferably within the retail industry or a company with both retail and ecommerce operations.
- Strong understanding of retail business operations particularly store inventory management.
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of selfmotivation attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems or ERP software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Experience working in a fastpaced crossfunctional and multinational environment is a plus.
