Job Description

The Application Delivery Manager is an exciting leadership position accountable for the technical support and maintenance of the Epworth application landscape ensuring it is maintained and aligned with the Epworth technology strategy. The role will establish a strong understanding of the organisations short and longterm objectives whilst being able to challenge influence and support planning & decision making.

The Application Delivery Manager is responsible for the delivery of functional services within the application portfolio providing functional leadership and hands on delivery covering both operational and project level deliverables. The Application Delivery Manager is responsible for the delivery of technical services within the application portfolio providing technical leadership and hands on delivery covering both operational and project level deliverables. The role is also responsible for the management and execution of agreed workload including the upkeep of existing systems and proactive management of future demand in line with best practice and budgetary boundaries.

You will make an impact by:

  • Building trusted partnerships with the business and our service providers.
  • Proactively management of operational deliverables ensuring application portfolio currency supportability and continuity.
  • Proactively and ongoing management of the application lifecycle for all software products within the Epworth application portfolio.
  • Continuous improvement of the Epworth applications management practices processes and systems to improve the delivery of the application portfolio to meet the inplace department KPIs.
  • Working with and at the direction of the Head of Applications to proactively manage vendors in line with agreements maintenance contracts service level agreements compliance standards and regulations.
  • Working with peers to ensure business continuity through the creation of and adherence to the required DR and BCP plans.
  • Processing optimisation through implementation adherence and governance to best practices and procedures
  • Leading the team responsible for support and maintenance of the Epworth Applications portfolio
  • Forecasting managing and monitoring resource capability & capacity;
  • Developing lines for open team access and communication and proactively manage employee issues expeditiously mitigating risk;
  • Proactively develop team capability and capacity to ensure IT continues to meet the changing needs of the organisation;

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Extensive information systems and supervisory management experience in a complex organisation preferably within the Health Sector or similar
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • 7 years in IT industry with experience in delivery software support and/or development. Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team of professionals delivering high level organisational support services and ensuring the ongoing capability and responsiveness of the team in a service oriented and rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities whilst working across multiple business as usual and project based initiatives simultaneously to consistently deliver high quality outcomes.
  •  Excellent relationship management and consulting skills with demonstrated ability to develop effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues including the ability to influence negotiate and coach at senior levels.
