Head of Finance

In the UK we are building bespoke electric trucks at our base in Leamington Spa while our digital systems teams are based between the UK and Africa.

In Q4 2024 we signed a deal worth $163million to supply our purpose designed and built electric trucks and unique digital systems to our franchisee in East Africa. OX East Africa can then provide transportasaservice to enable businesses of all sizes to prosper. Our technology is breaking down existing trade barriers paving the way for economic transformation in the Global South.

Tasks

We are now seeking an experienced Head Of Finance with outstanding business modelling capabilities who can provide strategic hands on technical leadership in our fast growing start up environment.

Requirements

This role will incorporate Financial Planning and Analysis Fundraising Financial Control Reporting and Team leadership. You will play a key role in shaping our strategic financial direction at an exciting stage in our journey. Like everyone at OX you will contribute to an environment of collaboration and crossfunctional teamwork as well as continuous evaluation and refinement of our practices tools and processes.

You will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and work closely with the team to drive results and ensure objectives are reached. You will also be building and leading a small but mighty finance team.

Essential Experience:

• Expert in financial modelling best practice. Built models to support successful investment.
• Running Financial Planning and Analysis process end to end
• Proven track record for driving results and ensuring objectives are met
• Successful finance team leadership including building and developing a team
• Management of all month end processes
• Proven technical capabilities across international tax and VAT accounting policy
• Creating reporting for Board packs as well as experience of presenting financial results to key stakeholder
• Worked in a fast growing start up
• Implementing new systems (eg accounting ERP charge cards share options)
• Owning and managing share option compliance endtoend

Desirable Experience:

• Equity / Debt fundraising or the associated compliance
• Creating materials for fundraising including pitch decks and data room contents
• Making successful R&D claims
• Experience as an auditor or running audits
• Experience in an impactfocused business and/or climate tech and/or manufacturing

WFH / Office requirements

The role will be based in Warwickshire and will support hybrid flexible working with a mixture of working from home and in person with an expectation of 23 days in the office. OX is a highly flexible business and is fully supportive of remote working yet we are also an engineering & manufacturing business and nothing beats talking face to face to solve problems.
