You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Security Engineer Cyber Security supports the technical implementation of NCS AUs Security strategy and initiatives and has significant technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the wide range of security technologies used to oversee the security posture of NCS AU and our customers. The role is highly operational with daily activities as part of the role in addition to management of the security team on a BAU basis. The role works with the Security team members and corporate IT to ensure that the security controls implemented within the organisation are effective and in place.
Change is to be expected within this role as the NCS business integrates and grows within Australia and the security threat landscape shifts around us. This role needs to be hands on assisting with those changes and the development of solutions artefacts and implementations. As change occurs this role will manage the capacity of the team to deal with the new activities and BAU driving efficient working practices and automation of common tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves a range of responsibilities from daily operational tasks to strategic security improvements. You will actively participate in all team operational duties including rotational oncall incident response security event triage and investigations. A key aspect of the position is consulting with business and technology teams to identify opportunities for enhancing operational security through automation data analysis and implementation enhancements. This includes partnering with these teams to ensure security issue remediation efforts are prioritized effectively and achieve optimal results as well as providing security consulting and advice to business projects.
Project management forms a significant part of this role. You will take technical ownership of security technologies deployed within NCS AU assuming responsibility for their overall health and operational availability. This includes evaluating emerging security products and technologies for potential use conducting proofofconcepts for longterm consideration.
From a risk management perspective you will leverage industry best practices and a strong understanding of current and emerging threats to evaluate the NCS AU technical environments. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will be trustworthy reliable and conscientious demonstrating a high level of integrity. Crucially you will remain calm focused methodical and unflustered even under intense pressure.
A strong understanding of cybercriminal tactics and effective countermeasures is essential. You will utilize multiple data and information sources for threat hunting activities and security investigations. Finally a commitment to professional development is expected with the requirement to obtain and maintain relevant security
