Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for an experienced data professional to lead data stewardship efforts for enterprisewide initiatives.

The Manager Enterprise Data Stewardship will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organizations data is accurate consistent and welldocumented across enterprise platforms. This role will lead the development and execution of data stewardship strategies including maintaining data quality and integrity managing data catalogs and overseeing taxonomy and metadata practices. As part of a business solutions team the Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver innovative solutions while also supporting ad hoc service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality & Integrity:
    • Oversee operational efforts related to data quality including remediation reporting on status efficacy and business impact.
    • Develop and implement datadriven requirements for automated reporting to identify and investigate anomalies.
    • Test and validate results of new data onboarding initiatives to ensure data cleanliness and completeness.
    • Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to establish data quality standards that mitigate risks and support legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Demonstrate business value by ensuring highquality data drives accurate decisionmaking and operational efficiency.
  • Data Management & Cataloging:
    • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance data collection and storage practices in alignment with business objectives.
    • Manage and maintain data catalogs ensuring information is accessible and welldocumented.
    • Partner with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve data quality and integrity issues while driving longterm solutions.
    • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance data collection and storage practices in alignment with business objectives.
    • Highlight the business impact of wellorganized data management practices by improving data discoverability and usability across teams.
  • Metadata & Taxonomy
    • Develop and enforce standards for taxonomy and metadata across enterprise platforms ensuring alignment with business priorities and compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders in risk management and legal solutions to design taxonomy and metadata strategies that enable operational and monitoring data risk controls.
    • Demonstrate the business value of metadata and taxonomy by optimizing data discoverability enhancing decisionmaking capabilities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Perform ad hoc data queries and communicate results with clear actionable insights.
    • Create presentations and reports for executive audiences highlighting the value of data stewardship efforts.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and incorporate them into the teams frameworks and operating models.
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in a technical or quantitative discipline or relevant equivalent work experience.
  • 7 years of experience in data stewardship data analysis or related fields preferably within the entertainment industry and in a fastpaced environment.
  • 2 years of experience of functional and/or people management experience.
  • Proven success in collaborating with stakeholders across business and technical teams to define data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Familiarity with data quality tools (Collibra DQ Anomalo Monte Carlo etc.) data cataloging tools (Collibra DG mainly) and metadata management tools (TopBraid etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical abilities to prioritize tasks based on business value.
  • Ability to create impactful presentations and communicate insights to audiences at all levels.
  • A combination of technical expertise interpersonal skills and business acumen to interface across organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A great storyteller and communicator
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in a corporate setting including onboarding new employees providing career guidance delegating tasks effectively and monitoring progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Experience with Snowflake AWS Collibra and JIRA.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau Power BI or QlikSense.
  • Passion for entertainment and driving innovation in the industry.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits including medical dental and vision insurance 401(k) paid leave tuition reimbursement and a variety of other discounts and perks.
