The Neurodegenerative Diseases Group at VHIR is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with experience in bioinformatics analysis preferably in the field of immunology or neuroimmunology to study the role of the adaptive immune system in the onset and progression of Parkinsons disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. The group has demonstrated a significant role of CD8 T lymphocytes in the initiation of the neuronal death cascade and is working to establish the nature of the antigens that induce the cytotoxic response in order to develop a therapy that prevents or halts disease progression.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in Bioinformatics and Immunology
- Additional training in Bioinformatics and Immunology
- Fluency in English
Desired:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Bioinformatics
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 4 years of experience working in immunology and bioinformatics (wet and dry lab)
- Knowledge of immunology and bioinformatics
- Ability to perform transcriptomics scRNAseq scTCRseq antigen prediction and validation flow cytometry in vitro studies and other common techniques used in immunology and neuroimmunology research
Desired:
- Knowledge of neuroimmunology and infectious diseases
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Implement various techniques related to the study of the immune response at both the experimental and bioinformatics analysis levels.
- Assist in the training of PhD and masters students as well as lab technicians in relation to these techniques.
- Collaborate on the development of project proposals.
Labour conditions:
- Fulltime position: 40h/week
- Starting date: March 2025
- Gross annual salary: 24.78540 euros
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
