VHIR offers a vacant position for a Lab Assistant Technician for the Neurodegenerative Diseases Group.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry or a related field
- Specific training in laboratory research including genetics molecular and cell biology techniques and histology techniques
- English and French (B1 or higher)
Desired:
- Fluency in Catalan andSpanish
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 4 months of experience working in research labs
- Experience and knowledge of histological laboratory techniques (e.g. stereological cell analysis IHC IF confocal microscopy) and molecular techniques (ELISA WB)
- Experience in genetic engineering
- Experience with specific software for image and data analysis (OlyVIA Image J GraphPad QuPath Adobe
Illustrator) - Intermediate level of oral and written English and French
Desired:
- Previous knowledge in the field of medical research
- Experience with PCR techniques
- Ability to work in a teamworkoriented environment
- Excellent communication skills
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Participation as a lab assistant technician in the research project Activity and connectivity drive neuronal vulnerability and disease progression in Parkinsons disease.
Labour conditions:
- Fulltime position: 40h/week
- Starting date: February 2025
- Gross annual salary: 20.000 (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
