Mechanical Project Manager Independent Power Projects (IPP)
Location: Cape Town
Client: A Leading Firm in the Renewable Energy Sector
General Description:
The Project Manager IPP is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of renewable energy projects from inception through to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time within budget and in accordance with all regulatory and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning execution and closing of renewable energy projects particularly focusing on solar wind and other sustainable technologies.
- Manage all project phases including feasibility studies design procurement construction and commissioning.
- Coordinate with internal teams external contractors and consultants to achieve project milestones.
- Develop and maintain project budgets schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local national and international regulations as well as environmental and health and safety standards.
- Handle stakeholder engagement ensuring transparent communication between all parties involved including government entities local communities and investment partners.
- Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and clients providing detailed updates and strategic recommendations.
- Identify assess and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Educational Qualifications:
- a Mechanical engineering degree or deploma
- Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in project management within the renewable energy sector specifically with IPPs.
- Proven track record of successfully managing largescale energy projects from concept to completion.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in Law. Certified Conveyance. Experience Requirements: 5 years of experience in project development transactions within renewable energy sector.

Bachelor s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); advanced degree preferred.
