We are seeking a confident playful and energetic au pair to support two brothers aged 5 and 3.
The right person will be kind patient and compassionate enjoying activities such as educational play creative arts and crafts floortime and outdoor adventures. They should be enthusiastic about finding fun and meaningful ways to engage and stimulate the boys growing minds.
The 5yearold has a great imagination and loves animals snakes and building with Lego. His younger brother is passionate about farm animals puzzles music and creative construction activities. Both boys thrive outdoors and love spending time playing outside.
Main Purpose of the job:
To be a helping hand for their unique and specific support needs creating childspecific playbased learning opportunities and giving them the necessary guidance and support to thrive. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure longterm source of support are of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered counsellor for up to 46 weeks working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team based at the Neurodiversity Centre.
Job Objectives:
General Requirements:
A valid driver s license and reliable car Essential.
Fluent in English Essential.
JobRelated work experience:
Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children Essential.
Previous experience working with younger children under 5 years old Essential.
JobRelated Knowledge:
Familiarity with low arousal childled neuroaffirming approach Essential.
Familiarity and knowledge of attentional difficulties and hyperactivity in young children Essential.
JobRelated Skills:
Ability to minimise stress and anxiety by utilising a low arousal approach Essential.
Strong verbal communication skills with children and parents Essential.
Organisational skills i.e. ability to implement structure routine time management imperative Essential.
Social play and life skills Essential.
Relationship building skills Essential.

Working Hours:
The family is flexible and open to discussing alternative days or times. Additional hours will be required for babysitting and during school holidays.
Salary Range:
R5 800 R8 500 per month (Negotiable and depending on previous experience and qualifications)

Education
