Job Description

Are you interested in working on cuttingedge electric motor systems that are driving the future of aerospace technology At ALTEN UK we are looking for experienced System Test Rig Engineers to join our team in Solihull. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nextgeneration propulsion technologies for greener and more efficient aircraft. As a key contributor youll play a pivotal role in testing and validating stateoftheart electric motor and control systems.

Were looking for engineers who are independent highly skilled and ready to take ownership of exciting projects. This role requires a strong commitment to onsite work in Solihull (minimum 4 days a week) and were seeking candidates with 5 years of handson experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain test rigs for electric motor systems and components.
  • Conduct comprehensive dynamometer testing for performance validation of motors motor control units (MCUs) and converters/inverters.
  • Perform rigorous handson testing of electric motors ensuring compliance with safetycritical standards.
  • Analyze and interpret data using tools like LabVIEW or MATLAB to optimize test performance and system outputs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support certification and quality assurance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot enhance and refine testing methodologies.

Qualifications :

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven expertise with dynamometer testing for electric motors and components.
  • Handson experience with motor testing motor control unit (MCU) testing and converter/inverter testing.
  • Experience in safetycritical environments such as aerospace defence or automotive industries.
  • Strong background in test rig development and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in data acquisition tools (e.g. LabVIEW MATLAB) and system instrumentation.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
